The 1911 Census of England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man was taken on the nights of 2nd and 3rd April. It collected detailed information on the people who spent the night in each household, including their names, marital statuses, ages, occupations and birthplaces.
This Census is unique, as you can view the original household schedules your ancestors filled in. That means you can read their details in their own handwriting, and often see extra comments they added.
It also provides added information not included in previous censuses. You’ll discover how long couples had been married, and how many children they’d had. Plus, you can see the industries your ancestors worked in, alongside their standard job titles.
